Yukiko Goodell, MSN, APRN-Rx, AGPCNP-BC, ACHPN

Yukiko Goodell is a board-certified Adult–Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner and Advanced Certified Hospice and Palliative Nurse who brings a diverse and deeply compassionate background to her role at Katmai Oncology Group. She joined the practice in August 2023, contributing strong expertise in serious illness care, symptom management, and patient-centered communication. Yukiko’s nursing career began in Tokyo, Japan, where she cared for oncology patients through acute, chronic, and terminal phases of illness. After relocating to Hawaii, she served as a charge nurse in medical–surgical oncology, providing care for patients with complex conditions, including solid tumors, hematologic cancers, CHF, liver disease, dementia, and stroke.

She later earned her Master of Science in Nursing from The George Washington University and transitioned into advanced practice roles, including urgent and primary care, where she gained broad diagnostic and procedural experience. Drawn to supporting patients with serious illness, she completed a Hospice & Palliative Medicine Fellowship at Providence Alaska Medical Center, delivering interdisciplinary palliative care to patients and families facing life-limiting illness.

Yukiko is board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and holds the ACH­PN credential, demonstrating advanced expertise in hospice and palliative nursing. She has presented on end-of-life care, cultural considerations in hospice, and the evolving role of nursing in serious illness care.

At Katmai Oncology Group, Yukiko provides comprehensive assessments, symptom management, supportive care, and patient and family education. She is known for her warm communication style, her ability to build trust, and her dedication to helping patients navigate complex diagnoses with clarity and dignity.

Outside of the clinic, Yukiko enjoys being part of the Eagle River community and staying connected to her Japanese heritage
