Theodore Kim, DO
Dr. Theodore Kim joined Katmai Oncology in 2018. He is currently double board certified by the ABIM in Oncology and Hematology and is maintaining his Internal Medicine Certification. Dr. Kim graduated from West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine followed by residency at Albany Medical Center in New York. Dr. Kim completed his Oncology/Hematology fellowship at Tufts University Medical Center in Boston, MA.
During his training, Dr. Kim published multiple papers on breast cancer. He was also invited to sit on the American Society of Clinical Oncology steering committee that helped established the standards of care for the Sentinel Lymph Node procedure in the United States.
Dr. Kim’s clinical highlights have included being awarded a $700,000 grant from Safeway Corporation to develop the breast cancer center in Skagit County in Washington state. He also served as the Oncology Director and Chief of Staff of Skagit Health Care.
Since joining Katmai Oncology, he continues to see all types of cancers, but has a focus on complex early and late-stage breast cancer. Dr. Kim is currently the Director of Research at Providence Alaska Medical Center.
Dr. Kim’s approach to patient care are to listen carefully, appreciate and respect opinions, explain complex medical issues clearly, and provide a state of the art, personalized approach to care that involves a shared decision making process.
